about

_______________________________________________________

"I am currently listening to music all of the time, conducting ongoing research, decidedly living day by day, moving freely, and trying to find opportunities to grow.

Besides the pure mystery of sound, perhaps my favourite thing about making music is that there seems to be no limit to what can be created, and I guess in some way that excites my soul.

I think that after ~7 years of recording and releasing albums, and ~25 years of playing music, a vital part of my creative growth has been the constant search for something new, whether it be a new direction in composition or a new way of trying to organize sound (for lack of a better explanation, truly). Whatever it is, or however it can be properly described, the thing that often seems to work best for me, whether making or listening to music, is staying rooted in the practice of being open --> listening carefully --> moving naturally --> feeling alive in music.

When I feel alive in music, I become a better human!

All of this reflection is a way for me to formally sidestep any further pen-to-paper attempts at describing this music or tracing back the origins of the pieces on this new album (as I have admittedly given an honest effort and decided against publishing in the past couple of weeks). For the time being, I will just say that I have been influenced and inspired by so many people, places, objects, and events.

It's my hope that you'll turn on 'Good Spirit Inner Station' and connect in your own way, as you might.

Finally, I wish to end this note by thanking you deeply; first, for finding this music, and second, for your support as I continue along this creative path.

- Del Stephen"
