about

_______________________________________________________

Music, production, and personal field recordings by Stephen Del Duca.
Recorded in Toronto Canada, March 2018.
Collage cover art and design by Stephen Del Duca.

Big love and big thanks to all of the people, places, and sounds I've captured on my cassette walkman these past few years. This album is for you and about you. Thanks also to the handful of you who sat in on recordings or lent your ears and encouragement pre-release. Below you'll find some stream-of-consciousness notes on the title and sonic subject-matter of the album.
_______________________________________________________

"Not a concept album per se, but perhaps a sort of tribute to the people and places I love and have been loved by.

I guess I'm thinking about how one thing leads to another,
Connectedness between 2 or more beings,
Being independent,
But also being interdependent,
Acknowledging the need for other people,
Other places and things too.

Mirror and egg. Maybe you can relate.

Also thinking about how much my most meaningful experiences have been dependent on others,
Mostly strangers,
Then friends,
And if you rewind the tape all the way,
Family.

Every person and thing has an interdependence map,
A kind of history,
An unwritten and unspoken travel log,
But a completed one nonetheless.

Some songs are dedicated to natural bodies of water, which I love to swim in. That's definitely a kind of joy I could never express.

Anyway, we depend on each other and all of our actions. I feel this so strongly. So this album is a reflection on all that. It's my interdependence map in sound form. And I am just trying to do my best to be a positive factor in someone else's interdependence map. So really, just enjoy the music. Consider where you've been, where you're going, and how it all works out.

And if I can say so, I think you'll like this one the best...it's my favourite so far. I love music."
