"Stone Hole Water Bowl is a poem, a song, an album, and a picture. The music comprises one 30-minute piece. On the limited cassette edition of 8, it plays in its entirety on a single side and repeats on the second side.

On the night of August 27, I'll be joined live in concert at the Tranzac Club by a group of creative visionaries (James Bailey, Paul Newman, Jeff Sinibaldi, and Andrew Finlay Stewart) to present the music for the first time as well as further investigate the composition. I believe that I'll have much more to say about Stone Hole Water Bowl following this group endeavour, so I intend to add to this text in the coming days for curious listeners and future recollection. In the meantime, there is only so much that can be said about the pure mystery of sound!

Over the past few years, the idea of "no separation" is one that has really resonated with me when it comes to creative action (and/or what some folks might refer to as the spiritual flow). I mean to say that everything I do is part of the art-making, slow-cooker, sound-canvas recipe. Making music is not only about playing the instrument or making the sound. It seems to be more of a continuous process, so long as I continue being. I would like to once again thank the group of artists I performed this piece with on the weekend - you helped me to feel more alive. 'Stone Hole Water Bowl' comes from moving, observing, trying, waiting, swimming, hiking, reaching out, smiling, not trying, hugging, loving, meditating, remembering the bird that perched itself on my fingers over by Garibaldi Lake, being sound, moving around, wrestling, drinking, looking forward, dreaming, practicing, expanding, learning, growing, noticing, mourning, collapsing, refilling the cup, arriving, working, playing, dancing, sticking together, coming apart, watering the plants, listening, picking up the pieces, sharing, resting, living...
